Chief Executive Cork County Council
Tim Lucey has been Chief Executive of Cork County Council since 1st May 2014, following a three and a half year term as Cork City Manager. Mr. Lucey worked previously with Cork County Council as Divisional Manager for 5 years, Head of Corporate Affairs for 3 years and Financial Accountant for 2 years. Prior to that, he worked with the Health Service Executive and Cork City Council.
Mr Lucey is a member of the National Executive of the County and City Management Association of Ireland, a Director of Ireland’s Local Government Management Agency and is Chairman of the National Public Service Reform Oversight Group for local government. He is also Ireland’s Local Government representative on the European Federation of Local Government Chief Executives.
Outside of Ireland’s capital city Dublin, Cork County Council is the second largest local government agency. Cork County is the largest county in the country, while Cork is also Ireland’s second city.
Mr. Lucey is a graduate of the Institute of Public Administration and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy.
