Deputy Chief Executive, Cork County Council
James Fogarty is currently Deputy Chief Executive at Cork County Council, with over 35 years management experience in private and public sector organisations. Currently, James’s responsibilities include Management of the Northern Division of the Council, Economic Development & Tourism, Environment, Climate Change, Fire & Rescue and Organisational Development departments. James previously held the position of Head of IT with the Council.
He has been the leader and driving force behind major transformation and change projects over his career and in the Council. These include the recent adoption of Service Design in the Council and the launch of the Service Design Centre – Service rePublic in conjunction with Cork Institute of Technology.
Before joining the Council, James worked at a senior level in Third Level Education and as a senior manager in the IT, Medical Device and Automotive industries. James’s early career was spent in the IT industry in a variety of technical, consultancy and project management roles.
