Customer Ambassador for Firmstep and former Deputy Chief Executive for Scarborough Council
Hilary Jones has had a long career in public services spanning local, regional, and central government level.
Throughout her career, Hilary has gained extensive experience delivering high quality public services across a range of disciplines including Social Care, Health, Housing, and Customer Services.
As Former Deputy Chief Executive for Scarborough Council, Hilary successfully developed and delivered major transformation programmes in response to the need for modernisation and reform. These have focused on capturing the benefits of digital as an enabler to tackle financial austerity, rising demand on services and the need for local government to stay relevant in the digital age.
Hilary’s success has been born out of a commitment to develop collaborative public services and highly successful partnerships. This includes a pioneering shared digital workspace that enabled seamless joined up service delivery across Health, Adult Social Care and Housing.
Since retirement Hilary has been working as a Customer Ambassador for Firmstep to champion this collaborative approach and support public services in maximising the potential of ‘digital’.
One of her most recent achievements has been in supporting the development of the Firmstep Customer Network, an information and sharing tool that ensures a collaborative approach to sharing innovation and great practice. This has ensured all users can learn from the collective experience and skills of the extensive Firmstep user community.
